A Stroke of “Ladybug” Luck

ladybugblog Ever since I watched “Under the Tuscan Sun” several years ago, I’ve believed that ladybugs bring good luck. Before, I never much thought about it.

The ladybug has many ideologies attached to it. According to Ask.com, “A ladybug historically symbolizes good fortune. In the middle ages, aphids attacked crops and the farmers prayed to the Virgin Mary for help. A short time later, ladybugs arrived and killed all the bugs. The Swiss used to tell their children that ladybugs, not storks, bring babies. Some people, even today, believe that if a ladybug lands on you, you’re in for some good luck.”

Additionally, it is thought that ladybugs are a good omen. They can symbolize many things, from a change in luck, to finding true love, to getting a wish you’ve asked to be granted. However, killing a lady bug can result in a turn of bad luck.

    Ladybugs also called Asian beetles are a nuisance here in summer, particularly on our sunny porch. The exterminator I called told me if I found a way to be rid of them let hin know and we would market it !
